Lake Arrowhead Travel Guide
Welcome to Lake Arrowhead!
Located just 90 mi (145 km) east of Los Angeles, Lake Arrowhead is ideally situated in the San Bernardino National Forest, making it a prime destination for recreational activities. Described by many as the Alps of southern California, Lake Arrowhead is a popular spot for those wishing to downhill ski in the winter and hike, bike, camp and waterski in the summer. In fact, the town is located right on Lake Arrowhead, a man-made lake that is renowned for its watersport activities. With an excellent location near many ski hills, including those in Running Springs and Big Bear Lake, it is no wonder that Lake Arrowhead entices visitors year-round. A popular attraction within the town itself is Lake Arrowhead Queen Boat Tours, which offers informative and scenic tours of the lake. The Mountain Skies Astronomical Village also draws visitors to its educational planetarium and workshops that educate attendees on the future benefits of science.
